Our Story

Built From a Single Act of Entrepreneurial Courage

Every great empire has a beginning, and ours began on a significant date: 2nd February 2011, when a determined and visionary young entrepreneur named Nana Pokua Gyan walked into the Ghanaian business world and registered MJ Comet Enterprise as a sole proprietorship. Armed with little more than an iron will, a burning entrepreneurial spirit and a deep personal sense of purpose, she launched what would become the foundational pillar of an extraordinary business group.

As the business scaled from cement and construction materials into edible oils, industrial ethanol and community development, a single trading entity was no longer enough to contain the ambition. In a decisive strategic move, Nana Pokua established Comet Global Group as the parent structure — unifying four distinct subsidiaries under one governance framework, one quality standard and one overarching vision.

In science, a comet grows warmer and more powerful the closer it travels to the Sun. She saw herself in that imagery — a force of energy gathering momentum, drawing strength from those closest to her.

Key Milestones

2011

MJ Comet Enterprise registered Nana Pokua Gyan launches the group’s founding company as a sole proprietorship, distributing GHACEM, Dangote, Diamond, Dzata and Cimaf cement across Greater Accra.

2018

First GHACEM Recognition MJ Comet Enterprise receives the Best Branded Outlet Award from GHACEM, affirming brand standards and distribution excellence.

2022

GHACEM Most Promising Distributor Award Back-to-back recognition from GHACEM confirms MJ Comet Enterprise’s position as one of Ghana’s most trusted cement distributors.

2024

Comet Global Group established Four subsidiaries unified under one parent structure: one governance framework, one quality standard, one vision.

2026

German Investor Delegation Nana Pokua Gyan hosts German investors and a former German Member of Parliament in Accra to explore international investment collaboration.

Nana Pokua Gyan is the founder and CEO of Comet Global Group. Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2011 — driven by an unshakeable passion and a clear-eyed vision of the economic impact she wanted to create. Starting with wholesale cement distribution in Greater Accra, she built MJ Comet Enterprise from the ground up.

Over more than two decades, she has conducted business across the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, Poland, Switzerland, Canada, Italy, France, Dubai, South Africa, Brazil and Belgium — forging the cross-border supplier partnerships that give Comet Global Group its distinctive competitive edge.
